Duvall/King County Fire District 45 provides fire suppression, rescue, emergency medical, prevention, public education, and many other services to the community. These services are provided by a combination of volunteer and career personnel.
FIRE SUPPRESSION The District has three fire engines and a water tanker to handle the unlikely event of a structure fire. For brush and vegetation fires, the District is equipped with a specialized unit and equipment.
RESCUE State of the art hydraulic extrication tools provide quicker access to patients trapped in damaged vehicles. The District has personnel trained in rope rescue, hazardous materials, and water rescue. A rescue boat provides access to those in need of help on the lakes, river, or flood waters of the District.
EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES The District provides basic life support services through its certified Emergency Medical Technicians. In most cases, this includes transporting patients to area hospitals when necessary. Advanced Life Support services are delivered by Medic One paramedic units which serve this area of King County.
PREVENTION Annual Life Safety Inspections of the schools, churches, and businesses in Duvall are done by the crews. Plans for new construction are reviewed and installation of fire protection systems are inspected.
PUBLIC EDUCATION Fire crews visit school classrooms each year to deliver safety training. Station tours are provided for groups small and large. Basic First Aid and CPR classes are available.
